Summer 1990 on Pickwick Lake: Gavin tubes, skis, and finally gets up on Dad's old wooden slalom ski.
Hold your phone in landscape and tilt it like a steering wheel. Tilt and hold to lean into a turn; level it to straighten out. If steering feels off, hold the phone the way you like to play, pause, and tap "reset tilt". Playing lying down, or tilting is hard? In the pause menu, "steer with" switches between tilt, small tilts and a thumb drag, and "steering help" lets Gavin steer himself while your taps still work.
Follow the hint on screen when the boat starts to pull - every start can be won by feel.
As your summer goes on, the score games unlock (Tube Hang-On, Wake Jam, Buoy Run, Trick Run). They post to Game Center if you're signed in. Each week has a fresh board that starts Monday morning. If you're offline, your score waits on your device and goes up when you're back online; a weekly score has to reach Game Center before its week ends, or it's dropped (your all-time best still counts).
Mom's Polaroids and ride clips can be saved to Photos or shared. Saving to Photos asks permission the first time (the game can only add pictures, never read your library). Ride clips are optional: turning them on asks your permission to record the game's own screen, and a red dot shows while it records.
SaySo: Just Say So - boss your phone around: say what you want to keep track of (your dog's shots, Mom's recipes, medicines) and it makes it for you. Free, no ads.
Dialed In: Guitar Rigs - how about 90 great guitarists got their sound, with sources, plus starting settings for the amp you own at home. Free, no ads, nothing to buy.
